The thing that was meant to make these Pokémon special is that there is only of them, why can I catch a different wild Moltres in three different games if there's only one? To me it cheapens the whole idea of legendary Pokémon, while the Regigigas situation makes them feel even more special. I've always disliked when later generations make legendaries from past games available in the new regions. It connects the world by requiring Pokémon from another region which can't be found in Sinnoh, it's weaker to me that all of a sudden the other Regis can be found in Sinnoh now too thanks to Platinum. Then there's the in game lore context of these all being legendary and super rare Pokémon. Something very cool about keeping the games connected in the real world like that, and when I eventually grew up and had the chance to work through each game it made catching legendaries all the more fun and made that feeling of progression stretch across the games. First I love the cohesion between the games, it was a neat way to highlight transferring Pokémon but it also rewarded people who really played gen 3 and put the time into finding the Regis. While I hated it when growing up with no Regis to pull from, but now I absolutely love how catching Regigigas works in Gen 4. I agree withe everything except the last bit. Ridiculous how Regigigas wasn't obtainable without transfer in DP and only had the 3 regis obtainable in platinum if you already had a special event regigigas. Mythicals and/or new legendaries should never require legends from other gens be transferred to obtain them. In Gens outside their own legendaries shouldn't have too much fluff to get them, just enough that you still do a little work like the ultra wormholes or ramanas park are both good. In their generation they get unique areas/dungeons, a few can be running around, and they have lore that establishes why they are a thing. Regular legendaries should continue the formula they’re always have.
No point in coming up with a new event over and over. Mythicals for their generation need fun little events like shaymin and darkrai which tell you their lore/show off why they are special, but mythicals from other generations can just be given away under conditions like what they did with mew and Jirachi in this game.
